But it's actually pretty good. Not very piney, which is how I prefer my IPAs, and 8.8% ABV to boot.

My adventures in new (to me) regional beer continue...

Do you know what type(s) of hops they've used in this? Does it taste like grapefruit? Orange? Passionfruit?

Sweet can, but I do not do IPAs. Glad you like it though.

Cool can + 8.8% = taste irrelevant

Cool beer, never seen it before!

I like these pint cans that are becoming more popular. Old Forge, a local brewery for us PA folk, uses them. Even though the cans themselves are great that top plastic piece that holds them together is a royal pain in the ass. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I always feel like I shake up the beer ripping it out of that thing.

I know, craft beer problems....

According to the can, they are using bravo, Columbus, centennial and citra hops at a rate of .5 lbs per barrel. But the IBU is pretty low by my estimation. It's an easy to drink IPA if you are not a big IPA fan.

I would say more grapefruit than anything else.

This was my thought as well. They creep up on you, too. After two cans I was feeling pretty good.

Ahh, nice hops then :) I'm a HUUUUGE IPA fan, so low IBU could be a "bad" thing for me. But if I ever get the opportunity I'll try it.

The plastic retainer things are totally over-engineered. It's nice that they cover the whole top of the can though... keeps crap off of them. But yeah, lots of good stuff in pint cans out there right now.

I wish I could get this where I live. I'm always in the market for trying a new double IPA (or any sort of IPA really, it's my favorite style).
